We’d like to highlight a historical unit, the 555th Parachute Infantry Battalion “Triple Nickles.” This battalion was constituted on February 25, 1943, and while they didn’t serve overseas during the World War II, they played an integral role in fighting forest fires on the west coast caused by Japanese balloons carrying incendiary bombs. The Space Force detonated Firefly’s Alpha uncrewed rocket mid-flight on Thursday during the company's first-ever launch. The rocket was attempting to reach orbit, but suffered an issue a few minutes into its flight and began to tip horizontally.
