Flipper was a family adventure TV series that aired from 1964 to 1967. It followed the lives of a bottlenose dolphin named Flipper and his human friends, the Ricks family, in the Florida Everglades. Do you remember Flipper? Here's footage of the Miami Dolphins' mascot retrieving a football during the 1966 inaugural season. From 1966 to 1968, Flipper was situated in a tank behind the east end zone of the Orange Bowl. The dolphin would jump out of the tank and perform flips after every score.
