Today, the Alamo unveiled the Mission Gate and Lunette. The interpretive exhibit offers a deeper understanding of the Alamo’s extensive 300-year history and geographical footprint. Despite knowing the odds were against them, the brave Alamo Defenders valiantly fought until they took their last breaths on this battlefield. We owe it to these heroes to preserve their legacies and honor their sacrifices. Archaeologists continuously unearth more details of the origins of the Alamo, and every discovery and detail found helps to tell a more complete story of that fateful battle.
