The thorniest in all the land! The thorny devil is one of Australia’s most iconic and unique lizards; covered in tiny spines and spikes these animals are perfectly adapted for their harsh lifestyle in the desert. Growing up to around 7 inches long, these lizards live their lives on the sandy dunes and within the spinifex grasses of the Australian outback. They spend their days carefully creeping along on the hunt for their favorite food: ants! Much like the horned lizards of North America, thorn
