First Flight Of The Mosquito On 25 November 1940, the De Havilland team took a major step into aviation history. At Hatfield in Hertfordshire, chief test pilot Geoffrey de Havilland Jr., accompanied by engineer John Walker, lifted the prototype DH.98 Mosquito—serial E0234—into the air for the very first time.
