I consider it a victory that I didn’t get stung during this project :) Fun fact, Becorns are impervious to bee stings because their bark and shells are too hard. But still, they aren’t entirely safe. This Becorn was fun to build because as I worked, I shared the process on my Instagram stories (@Davidmbird) and incorporated the feedback I got. I hadn’t planned to give him a hat, but everyone completely disagreed and it forced me to reconsider. My next step is to get a good photo. Having him interact with a bird or frog would be amazing if I can pull it off… Then again, it would be cool for him to visit another Becorn sitting on a lily pad too. We’ll see what happens!

This was a project from last summer. There was a bit of a drought so this little birdbath got a lot of action. I couldn’t anticipate where the birds would splash though, so I took thousands of pictures that were out of focus. I can’t tell you how much time I spent cleaning the setup so it would be the freshest water in the area.
