This oceanic whitetip shark we saw cruising down-current of a whale carcass the other day was dragging a thick monofilament line. I am so grateful to the fisherman who cut the line and let her go 🩵 but dangling line can still be a point of potentially lethal entanglement, causes drag, and may interfere with their lateral line and countershading; So I do my best to try to remove as much line from entangled sharks as I safely can, given my skill set specific to adapting to their behavior, freediv

Despite her injury she's doing ok, and even ambushed the AUX that @Amakua (Dr. Mauricio Hoyos) was using to track and film other great white sharks. Sharks are amazing and sometimes we get the same Great White Sharks in Hawaii!!! Fins crossed they swim by us @OneOceanDiving this upcoming whale season. There is nothing like locking eyes
