This morning’s GFS model run from Tropical Tidbits shows a strong tropical system in the Gulf on Thursday, August 28 … almost exactly 20 years after Hurricane Katrina began impacting our coast. This is just one early model run and we’re still 13 days out, so it will likely change. Models at this range are for awareness, not alarm. But it’s a good reminder that: • Peak hurricane season is here. • The Gulf is warm and can develop storms quickly. • Preparation now is easier than rushing later. • Ke
