Using a TV to play games? You can, in part, credit Ralph Baer for coming up with that idea in 1951. In 1966, he built the first prototype for a home gaming console that could play games without a computer, microprocessor, or software. In 1972, he licensed it to Magnavox, who released the Odyssey game system in which players attached plastic overlays to the TV screen for a game background. Recently i restored a Magnavox amp belonging to this beautiful console. You’re listening to this 1957 Magnavox model CP273 with English made Collaro changer, 15” bass, 8” midrange and two 4” tweeters. High high end in 1957. The record player was restored by Vintage Record Changer & Turntable Repair at the same time and it works amazingly well.
