We often get asked how long plastic takes to melt, and it all depends on your heat source. In the oven, you could be waiting 20-30 minutes for plastic to soften enough to melt until it’s ready to be moulded. But on a panini press, the direct heat contact from the plates make it SO much quicker. This timelapse was filmed over 4 minutes, and that was with the top plate open so we could watch them melt.
