Dec 28, 2019 · Just a splitter will give you the same image on both monitors. If your computer has a second output like a second hdmi, vga or dmi port you can try hooking up the second monitor to that to get your second display. There are usb to hdmi listed but I have never tried them.

I don't think the standard systems will handle more than 2 monitors without separate GPU card -- even a splitter might require you to use something like an HDMI switcher to switch between the monitors connected to the splitter. Jul 15, 2019 · In addition to the KVM switch you could also get a 4 port HDMI switchbox -- this would allow you to switch one monitor between systems via HDMI and if it's say a laptop you can still use 2 monitors via the W+P button. Remember though if you are also using the HDMI for audio you'll lose that when switching the HDMI connection to another computer.

Jan 12, 2021 · The Nvidia card has a display port to HDMI adapter, which I use to connect to the HDMI audio extractor which sends the HDMI on to the HDTV. But all the sound it ever gets is stereo. I plug a fireTV stick into the HDMI splitter and I get 5.1 Dolby out of the sound coaxial port on both the splitter and the HDTV, so the hardware works.

Sep 22, 2017 · Most Notebooks/Laptops have a keyboard setting for control such as the Fn key plus another F key or other key/s for dimming/increasing the display, shouldn't affect the HDMI [or VGA on some] output. An example, my Vostro 1510 uses the Fn key plus the Up and Down arrows to make the changes while may ASUS uses the Fn key plus F5 or F6 for change.

Aug 9, 2017 · For the new Dell, I had to buy a new y splitter. I hook it up to the VGA port and plug each monitor into the y split, like before. Each monitor does get a signal but it shows the same thing on each monitor. It doesn't allow me to select Monitor 1 and Monitor 2. The auto detect doesn't seem to work.
