Aug 2, 2022 · The remaining RAM might be in the Hardware Reserved. Can you check Task Manager? Open Task Manager(press Ctrl+Shift+Esc) > click Performance > Memory > check the Hardware Reserved.

Computer only detecting 8 GB of RAM instead of 16 GB
Jun 14, 2018 · When you look at the system information option of windows it will report the physical amount of ram seen by windows. And should be 16Gb. If you find that 16Gb is not reported as the total physical memory fitted. But the bios reports 16Gb of memory detected.

I have followed all posted instructions and nothing works to reduce the RAM reserved for hardware. (even using MSconfig and unchecking maximum memory) This is my system specs:

6 days ago · I am using Win 11 and I have 16 gb ram. And when I go to task manager > performance tab, it shows i am using ~7gb ram, but when I go to process tab to show all the applications I am using, I don't think it is using 7 gb ram because the total should be way less than 7gb ram. The most used ram application is Edge, and it uses about 2gb.

Jan 1, 2018 · currently have 16GB. If you only have W10 32-bit with that much RAM you could use the unused range for a RAM drive and paging space. Heh. Apparently neither BING nor Google like the term "RAM drive" and appear to prefer "RAM disk" instead. Why? Who knows?
