The early access has been prostituted to turn into a free beta testing. No even that, because game is not even completed. The only genuine early access is the one who allows to play few days before release, with the game completed. Final Fantasy XIV does this with new expansions.

For example, I've played more Rimworld in early access then I played the full release version. The early access felt like a full game, you did not feel like anything was missing.

As someone getting into game development it's actually going to be a great feature for me personally, since I'm going to finish until the first boss or so of my game then put it on steam for free in early access so I can get feedback for it.
