Any downsides to using an AMD processor with an Nvidia GPU?
There is no downside. The only exception i can think of is if you are running Linux, as I've heard AMD drivers have much better compatibility with it. Otherwise, no downsides at all. Its also worth noting that though AMD GPUs can compete well with Nvidia in terms of raw performance, Nvidia currently has more to offer on the software side.
