President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris saw each other for the first time following his victory in November's election during former President Jimmy Carter's funeral in Washington DC.

The former president and once-again-future president, who are historically something less than besties, chatted it up before the service began. (Michelle Obama was not in attendance.)

Jimmy Carter, a U.S. president who served only one term but was widely admired for his humanitarian work after leaving the White House, was remembered during his state funeral on Thursday as a man who put honesty and kindness above partisan politics.

WASHINGTON ― The current and former living U.S. presidents said goodbye to Jimmy Carter on Thursday, and in the process once again highlighted the contrast between former and soon-to-be President Donald Trump and all the others.

Except for Michelle Obama, all of the living former presidents and their spouses were at the funeral, including Barack Obama, sitting in the front pews of Washington National Cathedral behind only President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris and their spouses.
