A suspect in Portland was arrested after firing shots, hijacking a TriMet bus with hostages, and engaging in a standoff with police. The suspect now faces multiple charges.

A man fired shots near Northwest Fifth Avenue and Glisan Street just after noon Wednesday and then barricaded himself inside a TriMet bus, police say. Police spokesperson Terri Wallo Strauss said the suspect was currently alone inside the bus, and had dropped the gun out an open window.
