Mercedes-Benz is giving its electric vehicle owners access to Tesla's Supercharger network for public fast charging with approved adapters.

Mercedes-Benz said that its electric vehicles will be able to access Tesla’s Supercharger network starting in February.

As Mercedes-Benz prepares to add NACS ports to new models this year, the automaker is opening access to the Tesla Supercharger network for its existing EVs. Starting in February, authorized Mercedes dealers will offer a free software update for US-based EV owners that opens the gates to the network of over 20,

US Mercedes-Benz EV drivers will be able to charge their cars at over 20,000 Tesla Superchargers in the US and Canada.

The three brands in the VW Group currently selling EVs in the U.S.—VW, Audi, and Porsche—announced Supercharger access and the eventual adoption of the Tesla NACS port in December 2023, alongside the new Scout brand. Scout isn't planning to deliver its first vehicles until 2027.

As soon as next month, the legacy German automaker says its BEVs will be able to charge on Tesla’s Supercharger network.

Sometime during this quarter, a NACS adapter will start rolling into dealers nationwide. Said adapter is priced at 185 dollars

Tesla has announced a reduction in the cost of using its Supercharger network, marking a significant step in making electric vehicle (EV)

That means the industry-wide rollout could also be complete around that time, opening up nearly 18,000 public charging options to all non-Teslas, with an adapter to start.

Mercedes-Benz has announced its customers will soon be able to pull up to Tesla's Supercharger stations, plug in, and charge. That's predictable news given how starting in 2025 new electric Mercedes products will ship with NACS charge ports (the same design utilized by Tesla) instead of the CCS1 style used until now.
