Sara Sharif’s father, Urfan Sharif, and stepmother Beinash Batool, were convicted of the girl’s murder last week by a jury at the Old Bailey.

Policing minister Dame Diana Johnson said the funding settlement struck the right balance between funding the police and protecting taxpayers.

Ministers have also accepted, or accepted in principle, all of the recommendations of the probe into the scandal.
