Arctic air pushing into southern Wisconsin is bringing dangerous cold temperatures. With highs only warming into single-digit temperatures, and wind chills remaining below zero throughout Sunday, several churches in the area reported closings.

There are a number of schools closings across Minnesota on Monday amid dangerous cold. Canby Public Schools, Marshall Public Schools and Tracy Public Schools, among many others, will all be closed for the day.

An extreme cold warning remains in place across the vast majority of Minnesota as plunging temperatures have brought dangerous wind chills to the state. On Monday, wind chills are expected to reach as low as -40 in west-central Minnesota by mid-afternoon,

More than a dozen Chicago-area schools have already announced closures or switches to e-learning for Tuesday as a cold weather advisory for much of Northeastern Illinois and Northwest Indiana continues to grip the region.
