U.S. Sen. Ruben Gallego of Arizona visited the Iowa State Fair's famous butter cow, grilled pork and ate an egg on a stick.

Arizona's U.S. Sen. Ruben Gallego fielded a range of questions from Iowans at a town hall, including on Medicaid, aid to Israel and redistricting.

Linda Merlin, 68, of Globe, asked Gallego what can be done to help secure more transportation resources for veterans. She is a former Army mechanic who worked on turbine engines and an independent voter who said she wants her fellow veterans to get any help they need.
