Ohio State football’s Block O recipient is a key returning player from the championship roster
Styles was named the 2025 Block O recipient by the Buckeyes — a symbolic gesture telling of his leadership. He is the sixth recipient of the honor to wear the number 0 jersey, and the second consecutive linebacker.
The Crimson Tide have emerged as the most recent dynasty in college football. Since 2009, Alabama has won six national championships under coach Nick Saban. After he retired following the 2023 season, some believe that the Crimson Tide’s dominance may be coming to an end.
The 2024 captains, for those that don't remember, were Emeka Egbuka (wide receiver), TreVeyon Henderson (running back), Jack Sawyer (defensive end) and Cody Simon (linebacker). This season, there's a new group leading the way.

Start with his family: his father, Lorenzo, was a star linebacker at Ohio State from 1992-94 and went on to play six years in the NFL. His mother, Laverna Styles, is also an Ohio State graduate. And his brother, Lorenzo Styles Jr., is in his third year with the Buckeyes and has also graduated after transferring from Notre Dame.

Safety Caleb Downs, linebacker Sonny Styles, offensive lineman Austin Siereveld and wide receiver Brandon Inniss were voted as team captains.
