While James has played 22 NBA seasons, he suffered a knee injury in the Los Angeles Lakers' first-round loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves and is the oldest player in the league. It would still be a surprise to see him retire after such an early playoff exit and given his contract situation, though.

The Lakers knew the Timberwolves would be a tough matchup in the first round of the NBA playoffs, but it turned out to be much tougher than expected.

There's no question that the Los Angeles Lakers were disappointing during the playoffs. There's a good chance that the organization expected to struggle a bit without a dominant big man to replace Anthony Davis.
