Officials in Kansas and Texas are evaluating damage from overnight tornadoes just days after storms killed more than two dozen people in communities in Kentucky and Missouri

The National Weather Service is warning of still more days of dangerous weather conditions across the central U.S. The agency issued the forecast Monday after four days of tornadoes, thunderstorms and heavy rain killed more than two dozen people.

Meteorologists with the NWS Paducah office have also confirmed several tornadoes in its region the afternoon and evening of May 16. Three tornadoes impacted western Kentucky, including an EF-3 tornado in Morganfield with winds of 155 mph, an EF-2 tornado in Allegre and an EF-2 tornado in Casky.

As a powerful tornado moved toward Laurel County late Friday, Zach Wilson drove through the storms to get to his parents. Inside their home, David and Edwina Wilson were hoping to get to the bathtub before the tornado hit.
