Rex Heuermann has been charged in the murder of a Philadelphia woman named Valerie Mack. The New York architect charged in the deaths of several women, known as the Gilgo Beach killings, has been charged in another murder, this time of a Philadelphia woman whose remains went unidentified for 20 years, prosecutors announced on Tuesday morning.

Suspected Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann has been charged with the 2000 murder of Valerie Mack. He has pleaded not guilty.

Heuermann was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Valerie Mack sometime between Sept. 1 and Nov. 19 in 2000.

Mack, a New Jersey woman who for two decades was known as Jane Doe No. 6 after her torso was discovered in a wooded lot off Mill Road west of Halsey Manor Road in Manorville in November 2000, was identified by police through DNA four years ago.

Accused Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann is being charged with a seventh murder: the death of Valerie Mack, officials said.

Rex Heuermann was charged with murdering a seventh woman in court on Tuesday. Heuermann is now accused of killing Valerie Mack, a 24-year-old escort who was last seen in 2000 and whose partial remains were found in eastern Long Island in November of that year.

Prosecutors filed another murder charge Tuesday against the alleged Gilgo Beach serial killer, bringing the number of alleged victims to seven — all women who were slain near New York City.

Rex Heuermann, the man accused of a string of serial killings in Gilgo Beach on Long Island, was charged with a seventh murder on Tuesday.
