In a recent trade idea from The Athletic’s Fred Katz, there would be plenty of intrigue between the Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers once again. His trade idea would involve moving LeBron James to the Mavericks in exchange for Klay Thompson, Daniel Gafford, and P.J. Washington.

The Mavericks are running it back with head coach Jason Kidd despite persistent rumors that the New York Knicks were interested in hiring him. Those whispers have been put to rest after the Knicks brought on veteran coach Mike Brown to lead the franchise.

If LeBron James wants to leave the Lakers soon, the Mavericks could be interested, but only if James does one thing to make himself available.
