UPSHUR COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - East Texas game wardens rescued a symbol of American tenacity and strength this weekend. A bald eagle is in rehab now and will hopefully fly again one day.
The eagle was taken to Chadwell Animal Hospital in Abingdon, where it was determined she suffered severe head trauma.
Once considered an endangered species, there are now more than 3,100 bald eagles wintering in at least 27 Illinois counties.
