The oldest continuously operating school building with the Howard County Public School System has turned 100 years old.

Construction of a new elementary school in Litchfield Park officially began on Monday. Troy Gilbert Elementary School will teach 1,100 students.

The Ocean Township school district will forgo some capital projects and eliminate 27 staff positions while increasing the budget.
