According to Bijay Raj Subedi, a forest officer in Dang, wildfires in Nepal are most often caused by humans, either internationally or by accident, such as when a cigarette is carelessly discarded.

At least 12 people have been confirmed dead, including two Indian nationals, in a road accident in the Dang District of mid-western Nepal, the police confirmed.

Since 2003, Government of India has taken up over 563 HICDPs in Nepal in various sectors and has completed 495 projects. Amongst these, 62 projects are in Lumbini Province.
