Update: Airport Fire remains 62% contained, 23,519 acres affected in Orange, Riverside County
Airport Fire initially started 1:21 p.m. Sep. 9 in Orange, Riverside County. After being active for 11 days, it has burned 23,519 acres. A crew of 2,007 firefighters has been working on site and, by Friday evening, they managed to contain 62% of the fire. The wildfire originated from equipment usage.
The three fires continued to burn Wednesday, forcing evacuations and threatening homes around Southern California.
