A furniture store chain in North Carolina and South Carolina made a $25,000 donation to an Asheville nonprofit.
The retail chain originally filed for bankruptcy in September and has been in the process of getting rid of its underperforming stores since then.
The store will replace a location for the office supply store chain Staples, which closed in November. Bob’s Discount Furniture also has a location at the Lehigh Valley Mall in Whitehall Township.
But not all retailers were affected in the same way. For furniture brand Castlery, long lead times are one reason supply chain management has always been a priority for the business.
