If Carr isn’t able to prove he is ready to return, then it will be rookie Spencer Rattler who will get his fifth start of the season. Though the Saints have no won with Rattler at QB, including Monday becoming the only team in the NFL to be shut out.

The New Orleans Saints were without their starting quarterback Derek Carr in Week 15 against the Washington Commanders after an injury he suffered in Week 14 against the New York Giants. Carr went down late in that matchup with a non-throwing hand injury,

The Saints sit with a less than one percent chance of making the postseason, and the team will surely be preparing for 2025 over the next few weeks. Still, Carr could work his way back to the field, with Loomis declaring that his squad was going to “try to win every game.”

New Orleans Saints interim head coach Darren Rizzi said Tuesday he is hopeful that veteran quarterback Derek Carr can return to action against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday at the Superdome.
