The XPS 13 9345 starts at $1,300 for a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite X1E-80-100 chipset, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, and a 13.4-inch FHD+ IPS display.

Dell’s XPS 13 and 14 are stylish, portable and powerful. You’ll have to get used to some of its design quirks, though, and it’s far pricier than older models.

Dell’s latest XPS 13 is as powerful and beautiful as it has been in years past. It even fixes the cooling and (to an extent) battery life problems that plague the more expensive OLED XPS 13 Plus.

The higher-end Dell XPS 13 9315 has an i7 processor, 32GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1TB drive. The cosmetic changes in the new XPS 13 are minimal, but they make the whole thing a smidge smaller.

Dell sells the XPS 13 2-in-1 in a variety of configurations, starting at $1,049, but that does not get you the keyboard folio, which is a $100 add-on. You definitely want the keyboard, too.

RAM: 8 GB/16 GB/32 GB. Storage: 512 GB, ... The Dell XPS 13 Plus starts at $1,149 in the U.S. and £1,298 in the U.K. for the i5-1240P processor, 8 GB of memory and the 1920 x 1200 display.

A Surface Pro 9 with a Core i5 CPU, 16GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD, along with the keyboard cover, is $1,578. A similarly configured XPS 13 two-in-one, also with the keyboard cover, is $1,299.

Like the standard XPS 13, there is no headset connector, but Dell includes a USB-C to 3.5mm headset adapter and a USB-C to USB-A adapter. Just don’t forget them when heading out on a trip.
