A woman carrying a gun was shot and killed by Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies in Deerfield Beach Wednesday night, officials say.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was involved in a shooting near the 1900 block of Northeast Second Street in Deerfield Beach. Authorities said a woman was killed in the shooting. The woman was inside a restaurant in the area with a firearm, and eventually was met by responding deputies and engaged the woman.
