The Cavaliers have suddenly found themselves dealing with the dreaded injury bug, a problem that’s striking just about every team in the NBA this time of year.

The Cavaliers, already dealing with recent injuries, will be without Dean Wade for at least the next two weeks. Wade sustained a right knee injury during the Cavs ' Jan. 24 game in Philadelphia and then missed the next two games. An MRI administered Monday revealed a right knee bone bruise, according to a release from the team.

"I think the way things played out still holds a grudge to them and they don't realize the great runs we had in the time I was there."

Still out for Wednesday

If the Cavaliers can find a trade package for a player who is a clear upgrade over LeVert ( say, Cameron Johnson ), then trading LeVert in that potential deal would absolutely make sense. However, a deal before the deadline would not make sense if the front office is only looking to trade LeVert solely to reduce payroll.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are undermanned right now. With Caris LeVert (wrist), Isaac Okoro (shoulder), and Dean Wade (knee) all out with injuries, they need everybody to step up. That has opened up the door for more playing time for rookie Jaylon Tyson.

Following the Donovan Mitchell trade before the 2022-23 season, the Cavaliers didn't have much draft capital. The next unprotected first-rounder they could offer in a trade is their 2031 pick. Because of this, Jaylon Tyson, Cleveland's first-round pick from the 2024 draft, could be used as the key piece in a blockbuster trade.

LeVert (wrist) has been ruled out for Monday's game against Detroit. LeVert will miss his fifth consecutive contest due to a right wrist sprain, and his next chance to suit up will come Wednesday against Miami.
