A number of Texas Panhandle athletes are leaving San Antonio with medals after strong performances at the UIL State Tennis Tournament.

The TCU men and Texas A&M women were hoping for back-to-back national tennis championships, but the two Texas teams finished second in the NCAA Tournament on Sunday in Waco.

The Wolverines lost 4-1 to Texas A&M in the national semifinals. Texas A&M, ranked second in the country, will take on No. 1 Georgia in a rematch of last season’s national championship. The Aggies won it all last year.

The Horned Frogs could not "mustard" enough points and came up just two sets short of defeating Wake Forest for the National Championship. They were playing "ketchup" the entire match.

NCAA tennis championships began with 128 teams between the men's and women's brackets, and now only 16 remain with the champions to be crowned this weekend. On the men's side, each of the top four seeds have stayed alive.
