High-ranking U.S. and Chinese officials will meet this week to discuss trade issues, marking the first formal talks between the two countries since President Donald Trump imposed sweeping tariffs on China.

India said it attacked nine sites in Pakistan including in the disputed territory of Kashmir on Wednesday in response to the killing of 26 people, mostly tourists, on its part of Kashmir last month that it blamed on Pakistan.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and trade representative Jamieson Greer will meet with their counterparts in Geneva in the most-senior known conversations between the two countries in months. It comes amid growing U.S. market worry over the impact of the tariffs on the prices and supply of consumer goods.
