That same brand has just given the electric treatment to its legendary Skyline GT-R R32 model, a car that will be unveiled at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon in early January. That’s the model born in 1989 that was originally powered by a 276-hp twin-turbo 2.6-liter straight-6 and featured in the Fast and Furious franchise in ‘Furious 7’ from 2015.

While most enthusiasts probably aren’t keen on seeing a classic GT-R lose its inline-six heart, an electric Skyline is somewhat of an interesting proposition. The car’s smooth power delivery and all-wheel-drive character can theoretically be recreated with modern electric motor controllers, albeit without the sweet sound or texture of the RB.
