Newcastle could face another approach for Alexander Isak despite Liverpool switching their focus to a move for Hugo Ekitike. The Reds are known to have a long-standing interest in Isak and they reached out to the Magpies earlier this week. At the same time, Newcastle were said to have been pursuing a deal to sign Ekitike.

The Reds are recruiting from a position of strength having secured the Premier League title last season but know they must spend big to acquire their long-term No.9. They have whittled their search down to two players: Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitiké and Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak.
