Coinbase just scored a rare win in its battle with the SEC. Judge Katherine Polk Failla has granted the crypto exchange an interlocutory appeal, which lets the company take its case to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

Coinbase has been granted an interlocutory appeal, temporarily pausing its ongoing court case against the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

A decision in the SEC v. Coinbase case will go to an appellate court after a judge said there could be “conflicting conclusions” around what courts consider a security.

A U.S. judge halted the case in which the exchange and SEC are duking it out over an enforcement matter, and will let Coinbase chase a higher-court appeal.
