After claiming the foldable iPhone is coming in 2026, a display insider says that Apple has chosen the Fold design over the Flip.

Apple is reportedly planning to release a foldable iPhone, the iPhone Flip, in 2026, which will mimic the design of the Galaxy Z Flip and feature a 7.9-8.3 inch display and a clamshell-style layout.

The first approach is the a top-down fold, where the opened device has a similar sized screen to an existing iPhone, and it folds down to a very pocketable device with half the height and width, at the cost of twice the thickness.
