The BBC issued a formal apology after broadcasting a controversial performance from the rap-punk group Bob Vylan at England's Glastonbury festival. Bob Vylan — outspoken critics of Israel's war on Gaza — led its crowd at last weekend's festival in a chant of "Death to the IDF,

The BBC had already said it should have cut the stream from Bob Vylan's performance at the music festival on Saturday which included on-stage chants of "death, death to the IDF", a reference to the Israel Defense Forces fighting a war in Gaza.

We fully understand the strength of feeling regarding Bob Vylan’s live appearance at Glastonbury on the BBC. We deeply regret that such offensive and deplorable behaviour appeared on the BBC and want to apologise to our viewers and listeners and in particular the Jewish community.
