Capt. Dave Snowden, who took command of the nuclear-powered USS Harry S. Truman in December 2023, was relieved of command Thursday, according to a Navy release.
Snowden will be replaced by Capt. Christopher Hill, the commanding officer of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, in an interim capacity, the Navy said.

The Navy said it decided to relieve Captain Dave Snowden as commanding officer of the Truman due to a "loss of confidence in his ability to command." The Truman is now undergoing repairs in Greece.
