State Sen. John Horhn and incumbent Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba rematched in the April 22 runoff after a decisive victory for Horhn in the primaries.

He decisively defeated incumbent Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba by more than 12,000 votes. Lumumba received only 25.25% of the vote, or 6,246 votes as of 10:30 p.m. with all 80 precincts reporting.

State Senator John Horhn defeated incumbent Chokwe Antar Lumumba to win the Democratic Primary for Jackson Mayor. Horhn captured nearly 75 percent of the vote in a clear repudiation of Lumumba.
