The Xiaomi Redmi 8’s photos are vibrant and the punchy. But the quality is nowhere close to the quality that the Pixel 3 or the Asus Zenfone 5z or the Poco F1 offered, especially in low-light.

Aside from the battery, these core specs suggest that we’re looking at a low-end Xiaomi phone such as the Redmi 8. But Xiaomi has launched low-end Note models before, such as the Redmi Note 5A.

While the 8A gets only up to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, the Redmi 8 has a variant with 4GB and 64GB. Another interesting detail is that they come with USB-C port and up to 18W fast-charging.

Update, August 26 2019 (7:13AM ET): Xiaomi has now confirmed to Android Authority (and via Weibo) that it’s launching a special World of Warcraft edition Redmi Note 8 Pro on August 29.

Xiaomi Redmi 8 comes with a starting price of Rs 7,999. The handset will be available on Flipkart.com and Mi.com at 12pm.
