The U.S. military has created a second military zone along the border with Mexico, adding an area in Texas where troops can temporarily detain migrants or trespassers after another such area was designated in New Mexico last month.

The Pentagon is set to control the Roosevelt Reservation, a 170-mile stretch at the southern border, where troops can detain migrants as trespassers.

The Defense Department says it has designated a second stretch on the U.S. border with Mexico as a military zone to enforce immigration laws.
