In a post on Truth Social, Trump took aim at Musk for the subsidies his companies have received, particularly for electric vehicles. Trump said without them, Musk would "probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa."

Trump lashed out at Musk on Tuesday, accusing the Tesla Inc. and SpaceX chief executive officer of benefiting excessively from government electric vehicle subsidies.

Asked by reporters whether Musk, a naturalized citizen, might be kicked out of the country, the President suggested he might consider the idea.
