Ireland was last night braced to ­suffer the most violent Atlantic storm in generations as Storm Éowyn swept in to batter the country.

Wexford have raised €5,000 for the local branch of Marine Watch after running a number of initiatives in 2024.

Storm Éowyn, pronounced ‘Ay-oh-win’, has been advancing toward Ireland and the United Kingdom and is expected to bring gusty winds, heavy rain and some snow to the region Friday and Saturday.
