A new law in New Hampshire will require anyone registering to vote for the first time in the Granite State to provide documentation they are U.S. citizens, like a birth certificate or passport.

A new voter ID law in New Hampshire is facing its first legal challenge. Gov. Chris Sununu signed the law last week. It requires all people registering to vote to show a passport, birth certificate or naturalization papers at the polls.

The new law requires all voters to present documentary proof of citizenship to register and a photo ID to vote. The legal challenge by the New Hampshire Youth Movement seeks to permanently block it from going into effect.
