Tube fares to rise by almost 5% but London bus fares frozen at £1.75
Tube fares will rise by double the rate of inflation next year – but London bus fares will be frozen at £1.75. Mayor Sadiq Khan said the cost of travelling on the London Underground, London Overground and Elizabeth line would increase by an average of 4.6 per cent from March 2025.
London Underground fares to go up in 2025 but bus fares frozen
The rise comes into effect from March 2, 2025. The daily cap will increase by 40p to 70p depending on the zone. Bus and tram fares remain frozen at 2016 prices. Unlimited journeys are £1.75 within an hour. The money will be reinvested in Transport for London (TfL), said Mr Khan, reports the BBC.
