Describing Gautam Gambhir as a "prickly character," Ricky Ponting said that he's "had a bit of history" with India head coach.

Ricky Ponting was also asked if he would shake hands with Gautam Gambhir before the first ball in Perth, to which the Aussie said: "If he comes my way. Yeah!"

As the Border-Gavaskar Trophy approaches, tensions rise off the field between Gautam Gambhir and Ricky Ponting over comments on Virat Kohli's form. BGT set to begin in Perth on November 22.

Ponting also added that he has had a "bit of history" with Gambhir whom he has played against and coached during his time at the Delhi Capitals (then Daredevils) in the IPL.

Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting had said that Virat Kohli's form is a concern, given the Indian batter has scored just two Test hundreds in the last five years but felt that he has it in him to roar back to form and there is no better place than Australia to do so.
